So I traded in an iPhone 8, received the trade in kit and sent the phone off. 3 weeks ago.

Phobios website shows they haven't even received it (while the tracking shows otherwise), and they are impossible to get in contact with. No replies to any of my emails/support tickets, and they just don't answer their phone.

Any Suggestions?

I would just be patient. It sometimes takes a while for them to get to it and they have a lot of phones that they are looking at and they may be shorthanded due to the pandemic. No one stole anything from you, they will get to you eventually.

Sent in my iPhone 8 last Monday, received the trade in complete email Thursday. You've waited long enough, try talking to Apple

I sent my phone in and tracking said it was received on 11/18. Update status never changed that they received it. They sent the phone back to me on 12/6 addressed to me. I was confused so I contacted Apple and they told me they requoted my trade in because they said it was activation locked and sent me an email about it on 11/17. I asked why they would consider it locked and requote before they even received the phone on tracking? Also my phone trading in was factory unlocked when I bought it. They said they don’t know why that happened or why they sent it back to me. Well now I have to resend the phone the phone back in with a new trade in kit. Sounds like their trade in company is having issues and needs to get their **** figured out. Huge inconvenience and my confidence something doesn’t get lost or messed up is very low...

3 weeks does seem too long... I did Phobios trade-in with my wife’s iPhone X, when we got our 12 Pros (hers was on og battery), and basically all went smooth (basically acknowledged it was received a day after tracking, and was a few days until they confirmed price and I got the gift card). But I’m in Canada, so could be different for you.

I‘ve heard their customer service isn’t the best, which comes up when things unofrtunately don’t go smoothly, as has for you. Agree with @AndrewR23 I would try reaching out to Apple and see if they can’t look into it and nudge it along.

They (and anybody) can determine if an iPhone is Activation Locked based on the serial number. They don't need to have the iPhone in hand.

True... if they had said serial number beforehand. Which they didn’t. And it is a Apple factory unlocked so they still made an error, which Apple admitted to.

Why I would just sell it on swappa or something. They seem fishy. Not sure I would send it again.

Contact apple support. This happened to me last year and eventually after many calls/texts I got the credit. Ultimately they said that due to volume of devices sometimes they get lost.
I never spoke to phobio directly always to an apple rep that would put me on hold while they investigated.
Keep at it you’ll get your money!

Hello, we would like to look into this for you for this is not the time frame we promise our customers. Could you please email me directly at DaisyQ@phobio.com? Thank you!
