Why does it drain battery life so much on a Apple Watch ?

Anyway to prevent this or is it just the nature of the beast?

I don't use phone buddy so I don't know all of the features and functionality of it. That said, have you looked at the features of Apple's "Find My" app to see if it does what you need? I have it set up to notify me on my watch if I leave my iPhone, iPad or Airpods Pro behind anywhere but at home.
