Phone freezing when selected

My 7 is freezing when I select phone from home screen. It takes about 3 min to finally in freeze!

Try deep resetting the phone, Hold the power and the home button at the same time until you see the apple logo, should clear any bugs.

This basically forces the phone to restart. I wonder if it does anything else helpful.
