iPhone 12 Phone getting hot after 15 min browsing

Please bear with me while I try to explain, since last update to 14.7.1 I noticed after about 15 min of browsing my phone would get very warm to touch and I just put up with this but just now I switched off optimised battery charging and phone is now nice and cool, I’m not expert when it comes to phones but why would this make the phone run warm? Also experienced higher battery drain but reading around I’m not alone, so will keep eye out if anything changes.
Anyone had similar experience?

As per usual, I’ve searched for this with no good answer. I just browsed the MacRumors forums for 10 minutes or so and my iPhone 12 is now hot to the touch. Safari is the only open app. This is a recurring thing with very little use. Anyone?

Try using an ad blocker. Mine did that a lot on this site, but stopped once I installed an ad blocker.

My iPhone XS Max is still heating up when surfing MacRumors. Ad blocker not helping. I am visiting this site much less nowadays because of this.
