phone is activated but number hasn't transferred over yet

Is this normal? How long does it take for my number to transfer over?

This happened to me when I got my iPhone 3G. It took a couple hours. My old phone would ring when people called me too... But it eventually switched phones. Nothing to worry about, be patient.
