considering you can't activate it until tomorrow it doesn't really matter that it's in the city. you can call all you want, maybe if you're lucky they'll place yours at the end of the delivery line for being so impatient. you think you're the only one that has a phone in that hub? tons of other people are in the same situation as you.

As far as I know, this is inaccurate. There is no reason for the carrier to prevent the OP from activating it if they get it early.
With that said, there is no way any of the shipping companies are going to allow people to do this. Their buildings will start looking like an Apple store on launch day, which already happens anyway after about 5PM on delivery day (people miss the delivery and go to the hub to pick it up. Last year one of my friends waited in line for over 3 hours in SF to get theirs after missing delivery).

this was based on other threads and reports of people getting theirs early and not being able to activate. if it was just a hiccup or has been fixed i was unaware.

They are not supposed to tell you what you want to hear because what you want to hear is not possible.
UPS has an agreement with Apple not to deliver the phones until the release date. If UPS violates the agreement they could possibly lose Apple's business. That's a lot of money. We all have to wait.

No sir, you are the one sucking it. While you got denied by UPS there is hundred of people already with an iphone 5... there is even youtube videos unboxing it and... from friends cases if you atleast were something important, knew someone at ups or like a friend of mine that is just a hot girl who talked it out from the ups guy you could have had it today's morning. Nothing. They made an agreement with Apple.
Never deal with 1-800 UPS just go to the center someone there will help you find it if they can.
