Phone Number iMessage on iPad

Does anyone else wish that you could add your iPhone phone number to your iPad's iMessage app allowing you to send and receive iMessages on it?

Yes, it'd be quite nice to have just one port of call (your phone number) for ipad, mac, iphone etc...

Yes, you could use an email address but it separates text messages from imessages on iphones then :/
