Phone will answer but cannot turn on w/button

My phone has gone to black. It will turn on for a second when put on charger but will not turn on. Did sink and it worked - was on for a minute but then to black. Can receive calls but not turn it on to make calls or do any other functions. HELP

Hold the sleep and home button for about 10 seconds to restore, if this doesnt work you want to restore it in itunes, if itunes doesnt recognize your phone put it into recovery mode by holding the sleep button for 30 second until the phone is off and then while holding the home button connect to itunes and then restore. if all else fails take it to your apple store.
