My iphone 5c battery went out and currently will not power on at all. Can anyone please tell me how to do a factory reset on the phone, even though it WONT power on at all. Is there a way to do this?

What about plugging it in? Does that result in anything (even after some hours)?

No.
[doublepost=1470700182][/doublepost]I dont care about diagnosing the problem with the phone to be honest. I just want to know if I can do a factory reset without the phone working.

Well, since something has to happen on the phone for it to be factory reset, it seems that it wouldn't really be able to happen without the phone actually be powered on.

No.
If the phone doesn't power on you cannot restore it.

I dont want to "restore" it I want to wipe it clean (factory reset)! So if my restore you mean that, then thanks. Otherwise, feel free to post again a new answer. Thanks to any and everyone for the help.

That's what they meant. And if the phone is not responsive to anything then there is nothing that can be done outside of physical repairs.

The key part there was about the powering on part, not so much the semantics of a restore vs. wiping in clean, which are of no real difference when it comes to the part about the device needing to be powered.

While I understand you personally don't care about figuring out what's wrong with the phone. For proper help besides 'go to the Apple store' and 'yes it needs to be plugged in', we need a bit more information (through some basic diagnostics).

If you alway use a wall socket charger and lightning cable to charge the phone. Try using a different lightning cable and charge it from the laptop or some desktop with USB. Leave it on for an hour to see if it would get any juice.

Who knows, the phone might be fine, but the charger or cable is broken. Without figuring out what you've already tried or what does or doesn't work .. it is a guessing game. No power: no restore, no reset, no factory, no backup fix, no nothing besides a visit to the apple store------ or ----- doing some basic diagnostics.

Oweeee.....all that logic hurt my head.

Same answer.
You cannot make any changes to an electronic device that doesn't power on.
Wether that's restore, erase all, backup, copy music, call your gramma with it etc :D
Nadda.
