Just a minor rant here.
I don’t use the cameras on my phones all that much… usually to grab a few “happy snaps” with friends and family when I don’t have my regular camera(s) with me. I just picked up an iPhone 17 Pro this week and was disappointed to find that, unless using a third-party app, it will not shoot images in the 3:2 aspect ratio - which is the standard image ratio for most still photography (and has been for a century or more). My Google Pixel 10 Pro is the same way, so this is not an Apple-specific subject.
Granted, this is not the end of the world but it kind of points out that the tech world still knows (or cares) very little about photography. I guess they can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want an image that doesn’t fit a tablet or wide-screen TV/monitor. I’m not saying the 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios shouldn’t be there. But 3:2 should also be a standard choice.
