My best friend's birthday is coming up and I wanted to give him a nice book on photography. Now, I was thinking about Ansel Adam's `The Camera', but this was written in the analog times. Alternatives seem to stem from that time period, too.

Is there anything you can recommend?
(Since I'm mostly self-taught, I don't really know any good books, either.)

I found "Understanding Exposure" a very good book. It was recommended to me by many other forum members

Thanks a lot, guys 🙂
I've ordered Understanding Exposure and I'll wait for his feedback.

Some of the books on the lists may actually interest me …*🙂
