For those considering the Space Gray Aluminum Sport, here is an Instagram pic of the 42mm and 38mm side by side. It's nice to see the contrast.

I couldn't decide if these were real or someone's mockups but the finish makes me think they are authentic. On the 38mm one you can barely see the edge of the crown.

I think you can always see the crown more than that even at that angle.

Those don't look real. Where's the crown?

The pic is absolutely real. You can see the crown clearly on the 38mm version if you enlarge the picture. This pic was originally posted by fabienwanneroffical on Instagram who is a developer at Apple. He has several legitimate pictures of the Apple Watch on his Instagram account.

A developer wouldn't have them. Maybe an Apple employee right now could. Not a developer.

I know a lot of people here are leaning toward this model, but it's not my cup of tea. That much matte black and to my eye in low light it starts looking an awful lot like a Casio Calculator Watch.

The 38 looks like it may be the black stainless steel. Looks shiner than the 48

"Space Gray" is a specific shade of gray. It doesn't simply mean, "gray." It will be the same as on the iPhone.

Now, the surface smoothness might be a bit different, but the shade will be the same. If you look at photos of the SG iPhone, there too it will be different levels of dark because of different cameras, white balance, lighting, etc.

Also, lots of I'm ages of the Watch have been renders and not real, and will look somewhat different.

I have held a space gray iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2 next to each other at one time, all with the same finish, and none are the same shade of gray.

Apple plays it extremely loose with what they really mean by "space gray."

I'd bet lunch that the big one is space gray and the small one is space black SS. It's just too shiny, and... dark.
