Short version is that my iMac has fried. More then it’s worth to fix. Can’t afford a new one so probably have to go for cheap PC/laptop for time being.
One of the main issues is my large library of photos on icloud with lots of meta data ie location faces etc.
Is there a good way to preserve this metadata on the PC?
 
Just wondering... what went wrong with the iMac?
Graphics has gone again for the 3rd time. Pulled the plug and got a Mac mini for the time being as that’s all I can afford.

Won't iCloud preserve the metadata, even on a PC? I would expect so.

It’s more about being able to retain information like face tagging and location stamps.
