Photo editing not saving original copy?

I cropped a photo within the Photos app and was surprised that it overwrote the original photo. Is there a setting I've missed?

The editing you do in Photos.app as non-destructive. You can "un-crop" the photo.

If you are streaming your pictures, check if the original one is under Streaming section

Nevermind, figured it out.

Sometimes it will do it for you - Crop a photo and then post it to Facebook. The uncropped one will end up on FB!
