Photo Library Won't Transfer From External

Hi!

I just received my new Air. I tried to transfer my photo library from an external drive into the photos folder but whenever it is about to finish it gives me an error of "the operation can't be completed because an item with the name "photos library" already exists? How do I resolve this issue?

Why not simply import the photos from the external library?

nota bene: the error is based on the fact that there is already a library in the target folder. You would have to make sure that Photos isn’t running, delete it then via the Finder or terminal, and then copy your external library into the folder.
