Very nice! Your bird shots are straight out of a magazine. A challenge to us all.

Beautiful!
I saw the other Blue Jays at the SkyDome when I visited Toronto a few years ago, but I'd never seen the actual bird before (other than on their logo) - it's really quite stunning!

Very nice -- such rich color and interesting detail on the wing.

Thank you for the great compliments.

This is a view of Stone Mountain I've never seen before until last weekend. I stayed in the midtown W hotel. I woke up just at the right time. I looked out the window and saw this early sunrise looking out toward the mountain.

Mount Doom?
What a perfect timing in waking up. A little luck sure helps sometimes to get a great shot.

Cormorant Building Nest

Practicing with my beloved old Nikkor 500 mm F4/P. Still a long way to go but I'm determined to nail BIF with a manual focus lens. You've got to have a dream, right? :)

We have a very large Double-crested Cormorant nesting community here in Denver near the zoo (~200-300 pairs). They're fun to watch this time of year.

Tough lighting. On a good day the views are stunning, so I had to improv. a little here. Pretty pleased. Criticism always welcome.

Another view of the bridge, complete with this dog that followed me home.

I tried different angles, even from laying on the ground, and still thought this the best view.

Cheers :)

I meant to put this one up on Friday for the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but I forgot. So I give you a photo of "Iron America" (costume by IBOT- Iron Brothers of Topeka)

One to impress you guys over the pond today. A bunch of Civil War re-enactment enthusiasts over in the UK. Who'd have thought it. They certainly draft them in young don't they?

The bit that was frustrating was they were not actually firing their muskets, so no smoke etc! Anyway made for something different. For those of you in the UK, it was at Avoncroft Museum.
