There is some background to this photo... managed to get this shortly before the site began to be demolished as part of a new holiday village/development. The site was closed so I stuck the camera through the railings and got this shot.

Went for a walk through the botanical gardens right before closing...

Was out watering the flowers when I saw this gruesome mess

Wonderful shot. My mind jumps to the work of western painter of he last century like, Frederick Remington.:)
Nice sky, and crop.

Thanks, I actually shot that from a the van window on a dusty dirt road. We were on a school trip studying Sustainability in the Southwest : Lessons from the Puebloan Culture. I'm in the Masters program at NAU.

I'm curious... Is this a single, 'straight' exposure?

That was a single shot, no HDR here. As far as 'straight' just some adjustments in Aperture, and a crop of course. It looks even better in Aperture than it does on the thread. Thanks for looking.

They set up a war memorial at my college at the end of April...pieces of wood in the ground along the edges of the most traveled paths around campus, one for each fallen soldier.

5 second exposure, 80mm, f/5.6, ISO 400

Partially de-satted and a little contrast enhancement in PS.

Trying out a borrowed SpeedLight. C+C?

Kinda off topic, but I've noticed for a while that either my camera over-exposes my photos, or that my computer under-exposes them. Cause they look completely different from the Camera's LCD and the PC. Anyone know whats up with that?
