Continuing on the NYC theme. A recent Sunday afternoon on Canal Street. I decided to play with PS on this one.

Another amazing picture

It's images like this one that inspire us to improve our photography. Superb palette of colors! How much time do you usually spend to take photos like this one? That would include hiking, setting up and processing.

This is a plant bug (Hemiptera: Miridae) on a daisy (Asteraceae). They're much more common than I previously thought, and it's the first time I've seen this family in this area.

Through clear water.

You are so fortunate to have this in your back yard, and we are equally as fortunate to have you post your photos ! I was just in southern Germany for the first time. The mountains are so magical... and although it may sound silly, I was surprised to learn how "populated" they are - cable cars, hiking trails.... pretty neat.

Mine for today.... I enjoyed the randomness of the rocks and the colours. I think they match Phrasikleia's mountain's colours no ? Taken at a local Provincial Park.

This trucks spiked lug nuts, holy crap they are 4-5" long and reminded me of Mad Max movies.
Are these even legal? iPhone4 shot on way to work.

Yes, they are legal, and harmless. They are just plastic pieces that pop into the lugnuts and cost about $1.50 a pop at any "chrome shop" or truck stop.

I went down to the NHRA NW Nationals a few weeks ago, in the pits:

I love that golden light. Good shot.

Went back to the Aylmer Marina tonight. The long exposure gave movement to the sky and freezes the water.

^^^ Awesome shot and you may have captured a good shot of the jet stream at work here. ;)

Thank you! I am really happy with that photo, except that I just realized that the brightness on my monitor was way too high and so for those with a calibrated monitor my images may be looking too dark.

Already ordered a Spyder4 Pro to correct the issue.

@snyder Been loving your stuff recently :)

Thank you, you are very kind!

Here's another one from my trip to Mount Rainier National Park

This looks like a fantastic place, and you manage to transmit a feeling of isolated beauty. Did you process this as an HDR? I'd appreciate knowing a bit more about the settings/setup used for this shot, if you don't mind.

Hi there,

No HDR. Single exposure with basic adjustments in Lightroom4: curves, a little bit of noise reduction and then applied the selection brush to the rocks in the foreground using a bit of warmth and clarity.

The camera settings were f/22 using Sigma 17-50 2.8 at 17mm, ISO 100. I'm glad that you asked because after looking at all the images from that day I realized that I shot mostly everything at f/22. Comparing to other images from a previous outing to a similar spot I noticed better sharpness at f/11 and up to f/16
