It's August on the International Dateline. Welcome to Photo of the Day. The POTD thread was started by iGary in May, 2006 and converted to a monthly thread in November 2007 by Arn. POTD is one of the most popular picture groups on MacRumors, often exceeding 500 posts and 20,000 views per month. Photo of the Day is intended to be a showcase for your best pictures. There is no limit to your gear, just your imagination. P&S and film cameras are welcome along with DSLRs. There are no themes like the Weekly Contest, and no winners (or losers) either. Policies *One Photo per Day - Don't post more than one photo each day. *Quote with Thumbnails - When you quote an image please restore it's thumbnail before replying. You can do this either by installing the AutoTIMG browser extension or by editing the code by hand. *Multi-Quote - To comment on several photos, click the Multi-Quote button. This puts all your comments in one post. Multi-Quoting is required on all of the MacRumors forums. *SFW (Safe for Work) only - This is a site - wide rule. If you wouldn't show it in a public place, then it's NSFW (not safe for work). Think before you post. *Describe your photo - Tell what it is and where you took it. If you know the EXIF data of a photo, include it. The following EXIF fields are recommended: Camera, ISO, Focal Length, Shutter/Aperture and Lens. *Photography forum tutorials - If you need any help with posting, try one of these tutorials. Another cracker. I'm curious, when I look at your images on Flickr I can't see your camera settings etc. How do you post them, and why is it hidden?
lol no big secret just think my web preset excludes Exif data except for copyright, rather then post it all up and flood the thread (jeffreys exif viewer is pretty thorough and its 15/16 pages worth!! I'll put it here if your interested https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6574169/Exif for AFB.pdf
there is a somewhat new travel website here in Greece, called captainwise (www.captainwise.com) which generates results depending on the budget you specify. they just released version 2.0 of their website and they relaunched it with a creative contest around their logo. this contest has been around since the beginning of July and ended today 01Aug, and I only realized the existence of the contest 5 hours ago. Prize is EUR1000 travel credit on their website. These are my submissions I rushed to create the past 5 hours before the end of submissions. Wish me luck! captainwise new stache by needfx, on Flickr captainwise by needfx, on Flickr captainwise by needfx, on Flickr
good point..! did not realize it tbh, I don't care if they ripped it off, I just want the fame & the money
Have enjoyed your photos. Now how about conforming to the "rules" of the thread. One photo per day. Pick your best and post it, make all the comments you want on any other photos and wait till the next day to post another photo. Geeez, this is the first day of the month with the "rules" plainly posted on the first page and you ignore them. I am a rules " kind of guy I guess, but someone's gotta say it...... "Sure I believe in rules. If you don't, then you've got no game at all, do you? It's just a mess. I spent three years of my life with no rules, and I didn't like it. I want rules. Standards. If you can't measure up, get off the world. That's what we're dealing with: people who won't follow the rules. **** 'em!" "The Timothy Files", Lawrence Sanders Good luck with the contest. Cheers
thanks for keeping me on the straight path but this was an exceptional case, as it showcases the creativity squeezed within 5 hours. edited picture sizes for post in question to be less intrusive
Embarrassingly I posted this to the July one (I normally just check my post history to get to posts rather than look through the forums) so just gonna copy & paste what I wrote Come with crappy pic Come with no title Go to wrong post Sorry about that.
