Oh my word! that is just incredible! I mean just stunningly beautiful! Shame this weeks comp is closed. Theres the winner right there!

Thanks very much Ken.

I had to keep a close eye on the ocean for that shot. Most of the incoming waves were quite gentle but every once in a while one would hit the beach that could have knocked me off my feet and dragged me out. It wouldn't be the first time someone has drowned there this year.

Having driven through many parts of America this scene is so familiar to me, especially as I grew up in the Midwest. It would be great to capture this image during sunrise/sunset but I do understand you sometimes see something as you are passing through and you do the best you can. (this photo wasn't taken in Australia or Slovenia was it? :))

BTW, I set up my new iMac this afternoon so I should be able to post pictures once again by this weekend. I believe a few of the pictures I've taken in the last couple of months may even have a few worthy of sharing on this forum.

It's Taughannock Gorge , more or less across Cayuga Lake from Ithaca N.Y. . Got some family in the area so spent last weekend visiting . I've been to this place plenty of times in the last 20-25 years . It's different every time , though I can't seem to ever get a nice sky with clouds . A few hundred feet from where I was standing , the creek goes over a pretty substantial waterfall , which might be a good dawn shot if you can get there early enough . Don't know if a sunset shot would work , though.

The view was amazing. I can still close my eyes and see that place.

It is less than 2 hours drive from my house so I have no excuse! Lovely shot.
[doublepost=1501782653][/doublepost]All this B&W treatment on waterfalls got me wanting to do one myself. So here is my attempt. Hope it makes the grade.

Took another moon shot last night as the focus seemed a little off on the pic I took earlier in the week. Wanted to see if it was the lens or the operator. Turns out it was the latter ;)

If we say it was definitely operator error, will it make you shoot and post more to prove us wrong?

If the answer is yes, then..... mate you messed this one up bad...

If the answer is no.... well... just post more images OK!?!?

I went to a rocky sea pier and rocks were covered with a yellow moss in the part where the pier stretched into the sea, and green in the part where it was still on the shore. This one was originally yellow :), but I tried to apply some color filter in software.
