Cranes atop a construction site in central Taipei. Shot with a Mamiya Six folding camera on Bergger Pancro 400 b&w film; this is perhaps a roughly 30% crop of the original 6×6cm photo, which I think nicely demonstrates the amount of detail that can be recorded on medium-format film, even when shot using a decidedly not high-end camera that's nearly 70 years old.

useless fact: Before it became the GFT the cinema was known as the Cosmo. When a young James Copeland decided to follow his father into an acting career he had to choose a stage name. Jim had a favourite cinema, and so today he is known as James Cosmo.

Trivia: The Arctic Circle is slowly drifting northwards at about 49ft (15m) every year. This is because the Earth's axial tilt is currently decreasing, which is part of a natural 40,000-year cycle caused by tidal forces from the moon's orbit. The tilt fluctuates within a margin of 2° over this period, which in turn affects the Arctic Circle's latitude. As the tilt continues to decrease, the Arctic Circle will continue to move north for another hundred centuries or so, until it reaches approximately 68° North. At that pint, it will stop and begin moving south again, causing the Arctic to expand once more. So, this sign is sort of at the Arctic Circle.
