My Japan business trip 12/7 - 12/12, worked too late so no outside daylight for pictures :(

This shot from 2 hour bus ride Narita airport to Atusgi city.

Takumar SMC 28mm on Canon 30D

That's a very interesting combination, how did you do it?

I like this more every time I look at it. A teen little bit of graduated density in the upper half would make it just perfect.

Thanks for the kind comment :)
You're right, the snow and the white clouds are very bright and stand out, maybe too much. I'll try the graduated density filter on the top part and see how that works.

first night shot

well star trails etc. It was tricky, -16C, first shoot the factory across the frozen lake and then expose 14 minutes the stars and lastly blend them together ..
I still have problems with the blending and merging the images but this is not too bad IMHO for a first properly planned night shot...

ISO 100, 10 sec exposure on the factory, 764 sec exposure on the stars. Tripod mounted (obviously), just tilted the cam back and let her rip.

^^^ I like the simple fluid quality to this photo. Nice and minimalist.
Dale

Thanks Designer Dale I liked the texture the late afternoon light gave to the white paint. I like the the boats name in this version, but the first on is may favorite.... there was just too much distraction from the rusting winch on the bow in this one...
