Newlywed friends of mine asked if I could shoot their rings. Looked up a couple of ideas on the web and went with this for one of their pics. Feedback is certainly welcomed as this was my first attempt.
This type of product photography isn't my thing but I think whatever you have going-on in the air with the pink/purple is too much and takes my attention away from the rings. I'm also thinking that your composition (placement of the rings in frames) is very conservative with them centred and small.
What I'm seeing is a conflict between the busy atmosphere and conservative composition.
Think subtle background with elegant and dramatic lighting and composition for the rings...maybe black & white.

I've watched this young eagle grow for a few years now. He's another permanent resident at the sanctuary. I have a few other photos of him before his feathers turned white.

Took a wander up to Loch Lomond today and got some nice pictures though as usual, not happy as they are not what I set out to get... Grrr...

Does my tits in though because I have a vision and I can't get it. Fog was descending nicely on the way up but it lifted by the time I got there! Argh!
Next time. It is only an hour from the house so no excuse...

You flatter me too much... Bracketing is my new friend... 5 shots of the same thing, all exposed wrong, munge them together in Nik and voila! Mediocre landscape...

Mediocre gear gives mediocre landscapes....

No chance Ken. He uses a Nikon!
5 shots - am I doing it wrong - I use 3 (0 / -2 / +2 EV) then munge them together in Nik?
