This man stood on the boardwalk with a live snake (about 10-12 feet in length) wrapped around his body. He was selling polaroids for five dollars of people posing with his snake and the two parrots he brought along.

These pelicans were riding the waves before any human even dreamed of such a thing. They just float along on the uplifting air caused by the energy of the swell as it peaks. Pretty cool.:D

Pelicans, my favorite. They fly some pretty tight formation too:D

Time for my first HDR attempt.

We went down to Kioloa beach (NSW Australia) for this workshop. I woke up around 6:00AM to catch the first light but unfortunately it was so much cloudy that I could hardly see the sun. So I attempted to do some slow shutter shots and later HDRised them. This one turns out to be the best of the bunch.

C&C are more than welcome
@TommyD: Thanks!

@iTiki: Thanks for ur comment. When I tone mapped the photo in Photomatix, the clouds turned out to be "blue" rather "gray" and the sand became really yellowish, I thought it would create some sort of colour flow so I just left it like that.

@Doylem: Thanks. It is my first correctly done HDR attempt. Basically, I shot the photo in RAW with my D40, varied the exposure -1, 0, and 1 in PSCS3, then put these into Photomatrix and merge to 1 photo and change the tone mapping to my preference. Some blur and spot healing here and there finished the photo.

Found this lizard in a wood pile and then put it on a banana.

Wow those colors come popping off the screen- yet the swan commands my attention. Very nice, but for some reason I want to rotate it counter clockwise just a few degrees.

Yes, it's a compelling shot... and all to do with the quality of light at the moment the shutter was pressed. You can 'tidy up' a photo like this in PP... but, basically, it's a 'seen' photo.

Here's my effort for today: just a duck (swans' day off)... ;)

Houstons Flute Song

Over the weekend I was walking with friends around boston. This man was playing all sorts of different wooden flutes right in front of Fanueil Hall and Houstons Restaurant. Pretty neat sounding stuff. Its too bad there was a white signpost behind him, but I think the picture came out well regardless.
