Thanks inkmich, hopefully I won't overstay the welcome! I had an afternoon off from a trade show in Las Vegas and went down to Nelson - about 25 to 30 miles South of LV in the El Dorado canyon. Great photo site for a couple of hours and only a voluntary contribution for parking for informal photographers like me. There is also a gold mine tour but only when numbers justify.

Just visiting, I have friends from Serbia (Belgrade) and was taken to visit there - first the large fortress where we visited an artist then into town. Man I got a lot of pics from my visits - on iPhone and my trusty old Sony - I should start posting but seeing all these pics it's intimidating.
I love the way the gas pump is placed in the photo - the composition is fantastic. I'm learning a lot looking at these.
While photographing birds and the surroundings, I noticed something shiny on a branch....

I particularly enjoy seeing pictures from places I've never visited. I learn a little more about those places in addition to picking up the occasional photography tidbit.
Great old age for a large dog. Had a lab/Irish setter mix who lived to 16 1/2. Current rescue mix above will be 9 next month.
