Shows how low Lake Meade has become over the relatively long dry period in this region. Couldn't get the shot I wanted due to a pretty harsh foreground shadow that I've mostly cropped. There's actually a faint second rainbow if you look hard enough. Comments always appreciated.

I like the low light and the sky. Did you do anything to push the rainbow?

It was pretty harsh low-angle light from back-left so a relatively intense rainbow for just long enough to capture it. The double rainbow is somewhere up top left. Gone in a minute.

Here's a new one that I wrote a little essay about as the caption to the image. You can read it here: LINK. It's rare that I get to do much of my own shooting while teaching a workshop, but I managed to come away with a couple of photos from a weeklong session on the Oregon Coast last month. I wish I had time to process the other one, but it will have to wait until I get back from teaching five workshops in a row this month and next...it's going to be quite the marathon for me!

By the way, I mentioned a while back that my talk in England (about creativity and landscape photography) was going to be live-streamed as it happened. It turns out that the conference organizers later made the video available for free on YouTube. The links for the talk and the live interview that followed are here: LINKS. The talk is just over an hour long, and the interview is 10 minutes...if you're into landscape photography, perhaps you'll enjoy it! Cheers.

Stunning. You make most of us seem pretty pedestrian in comparison but certainly provide something for us mortals to aspire to! Keep them coming.

Vegas Bling. Processed with a Velvia film emulation to make it really pop. Comments always appreciated.

Velvia certainly makes the image pop. This is a really nice photo and an example where more saturated colours can be used to great effect.

I love the Velvia sim, it is very close to the actual film emulsion - which I still use in my GX617 today :)
