Another shot from the Manitou Springs, CO 2013 flooding. This was the road going from Manitou to the Cave of the Winds. Damage probably happened in June, but due to additional flooding over the summer, no repairs had been started in mid September.

Looks like it might have been planted too deeply and had some stem girdling roots that prevented proper stem development at the base. Sorry, my inner arborist nerd kicks in.

While the tower itself would be recycled, all they could do with the blades was bury them. The hundreds of tons of rebar and concrete that supported it are now buried under a few inches of soil & another couple of inches of snow.
