P.S can anyone tell me the brand/model of these black cars that seem very common in the US?
We don't have anything like them in Australia, nor any Chevy, GMC, Acura or Pontiac... (But some people seem to like sticking Chevy badges on their Australian-built Holden Commodore... :p )

Love that. Was it with a fisheye? You on hols over there?

Thanks, yes that was with a Pentax DA 10-17mm fish-eye, I bought the lens especially for my cities of US/Canada holiday, was there for a bit over a month. I had a few fish-eye shots planned in my head for NYC, I haven't been using it for landscapes but I really enjoyed using it out on the streets in NYC.
Everything is now opposite and I'm back in Scorching 'Straya, last Tuesday was a shocker

Received my Tamron 90mm macro lens yesterday. Here is the second image stack I did with it. The whole frame covered about 16x20mm at its greatest magnification. The macro-rails make life easy for image stacking and I can see the benefit to liveview now! 10x magnification for fine tuning focus is good, much better and more accurate than peering through the viewfinder.

It's a fairly boring item to look at I know, but for me it's all about getting the hurdles and technique out of the way early. Learning inside, then going outside with it later on. It's a slicker brush for our dogs and the bristles are 16mm high.

Shot pretty early this morning on my desk, lit only by very indirect light from outside coming from the back right of shot.

Canon 60D, Tamron 90mm Macro, Macro Rails on a tripod. 5 image stack.
90mm, f/14, ISO 200, 30 seconds.

Nice shot - that car would be a Lincoln Town Car. I remember riding on one some years ago. I asked for a taxi and the Hilton arranged for a limousine instead. Lots of roll and not very supportive rear seat - but the driver was efficient and friendly.

Foggy evening at Windermere railway station...

I love this photo Doylem. Love the way the colours stand out against the muted background, the way the lines lead into the photo and the simple, striking composition. I always enjoy seeing your photos but this one really struck me.
