Impressive! It must seem obvious to you and those who live there, but I'd not really considered why it was called Yellowstone. It was just a name to me but now I know! Thanks!!Putting together a slideshow from the 2013 roadtrip. This shoot from Yellowstone made the cut.

… preparing for the next nuclear strike.
That facility offered a tour. To ensure everyone’s safety, the red lights are only turned on when a nuclear shot is fired. During the tour, the engineer who showed us all the equipment explained that they wear coveralls, gloves, and other protective gear when working in radioactive material areas. They use lasers to test their equipment and wear glasses to protect their eyes. Additionally, he is the physics operator in the lab, responsible for deploying the nuclear fusion shots from the control room. That doesn't sound good.
Ah, I see. I normally associate the term "nuclear strike" with this…That facility offered a tour. To ensure everyone’s safety, the red lights are only turned on when a nuclear shot is fired. Very interesting, I know this is a comparison but normally we post one photo per day.Yesterday, I took my Olympus OM-1 and three lenses in a backpack to a park in Portugal and walked a couple of miles with all that gear. It was heavy and cumbersome to navigate the rain soaked ground near the streams. I took many shots with the liveND feature of the OM-1 but was only able to get about 3.2 seconds of hand-held stabilized shots of the rapids with the camera. In contrast, I was able to use an app called Light Stack on my iPhone 16 Pro to get 10 second shots saved as a PNG hand held. When I got back to my computer I was able to edit the files in Pixelmator Pro and didn't see much difference in the result - except maybe that the iPhone shots were better.
Here is a comparison. I wasn't able to get a steady handheld shot on the OM-1 in portrait mode. Maybe the results would be different with a tripod.
The lighting conditions were low. It was overcast. I desaturated the brown water and lightened the greens more in the iPhone shot.
Increasingly, I much prefer the convenience and quality of using the iPhone for photography than the OM-1.
