Whew, f1 on a MF sensor. Is the focal plane half a millimeter? :D
Yes it's much more challenging on the larger sensor! I did manage this particular image at f/4, but usually I have to go to f/5.6 to get anything in focus. On 35mm I'm at f/2.8 or f/4 for the same look.

It doesn't help that I'm usually also swatting away mosquitoes! 😂

Not a cross-post from this week's "Center Composition" P52 thread but for those interested, it's a lot of fun over there. Even if it's just for a few minutes per week and just one image, it's been great to think through the week's challenge. Now, I'm a natural "center composition" kind of guy, so this week's was particularly fun, but having to think on the different topics and produce something relevant has been fantastic. It's never too late to join in!

Dunrobin Castle, Scotland

Dunrobin Castle is the most northerly of Scotland's great houses and the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms. Dunrobin Castle is also one of Britain's oldest continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s, home to the Earls and later, the Dukes of Sutherland.
