This is my first picture ... :) What do you think ? (First time using photoshop too)

I need your feedback.

EDIT : my picture is too big for the forum ... here is the link.

It's a pretty good picture, but the problem with shooting a scene with such straight, square lines is that the barrel distortion of your lens becomes painfully obvious. That's pretty much one of the first and only thing I noticed. The barrel distortion would probably improve if you stood farther away from the scene and increase focal length...

From yesterday...

I love the abstract, very nice curves, and deep blues. What is the subject in the photo?

Just some blue ribbon that my cat likes playing with :).

Today was RAINY! Seriously my hair is still soaked..

Anyways, here is more *gasp!* street photography!

Straight out of the camera - if there's one thing I love about the D300 it's how fantastic the images look without any PP.

Taken today at my U's botanical garden. This tiny mantis was barely 2 cm long!

Canon XTi + 100mm macro + Ring Lite
1/200, f10, ISO 200

Slightly cropped, resized to about 50%

Better, yes: fewer extraneous details. But there's no feeling that a race is about to begin (the 'coiled spring' before the explosive start); he could be kneeling down to have a rest. Half a second later he would be up on his blocks: ready. Imagine taking a shot at that moment, with you lying on the track-side. You'd be able to see the expression on his face, and maybe get a more dynamic shot....

Hmm that is true, but I think the image is cool because it looks like he is preparing himself for the race. He could even be praying...

thanks :)
it isn't a dumb question. actually some people got confused. of course it is real, but the cicylists are made of plastic. they are miniatures on the frame of a window (the black frame).
the glass was kind of dirty and the sky wasn't that saturated so I post processed that. otherwise, there is not much editing.

Ok... I do not think that I really belong here...

I am a very amateur photographer... and I am really jealous of lots of your pics...

Here are some of my most recent (and in my opinion best) pics... comments?
