Sunset over English Bay

Doesn't seem to have taken you too long to get the hang of your new camera, Steamie. Stunning pic. Will you be cheering for England tomorrow? No, me neither...

If England lose, there'll be millions of flags tossed in rubbish skips... along with all the xenophobia and unrealistic optimism...

A unique image: the moon from above...

It's really strange. When you're standing underneath the moon it looks so huge and it seems to fill the whole building. But then you go up above the moon with the lift and suddenly it's so small...
I found it very hard to comprehend the dimensions of the Gasometer.

Hot Yoga

Did some preliminary shots in a hot yoga class... everyone was sweating in the heat, including me. ;) The lighting was very tricky, all coming from one direction, but two walls were mirrored, which bounced light all around in different directions-- sometimes good, sometimes not. Also, I tried to figure out which lenses would work in the often close range of the various subjects, so I tried wide, normal and tele. This with the 80-200.

One I pulled out for a re-edit.

Tuzu Child of Western Central China. The red cheeks are from the high altitude and often times become permanent sun damage. Welcome to the plateau :)

Thanks GregPQ.
Yes it was handheld ISO 1600 (if I remember right). At this time of the day there are no cars there, you need a special permit to drive your car in the town.

Love taking photos around my city. Though I wish my city had more interesting things lol.

I'm doing a "365 Project" but calling it "360" instead - full circle and gives me a few days off :)

I love that shot !!
^Please use tags on image quotes. Read my sig for how-to.

We never got around to guidelines for replies when we set up the Guide to POTD, but one of the old problems was folks just commenting "WOW" or whatever. Please tell us why you liked the photo. It helps us learn to be better photographers.
