It's really strange. When you're standing underneath the moon it looks so huge and it seems to fill the whole building. But then you go up above the moon with the lift and suddenly it's so small...
I found it very hard to comprehend the dimensions of the Gasometer.
Hot Yoga
Did some preliminary shots in a hot yoga class... everyone was sweating in the heat, including me. The lighting was very tricky, all coming from one direction, but two walls were mirrored, which bounced light all around in different directions-- sometimes good, sometimes not. Also, I tried to figure out which lenses would work in the often close range of the various subjects, so I tried wide, normal and tele. This with the 80-200.

What a great shot. Captures the magic of this place. With all the lights, the sky is still blue. Was this handheld? And how did you get rid of all the cars?

Yes it was handheld ISO 1600 (if I remember right). At this time of the day there are no cars there, you need a special permit to drive your car in the town.

We never got around to guidelines for replies when we set up the Guide to POTD, but one of the old problems was folks just commenting "WOW" or whatever. Please tell us why you liked the photo. It helps us learn to be better photographers.
