This is the Cazneaux Tree. It is a River Red Gum growing in the Southern Flinders Ranges in South Australia. It is named after Australian photographer Harold Cazneaux who photographed it in 1937. He named his image "The Spirit Of Endurance".

I was planning on doing some full moon photography last night but it was too cloudy here unfortunately.
RF 100-500mm L @500mm (75% crop). The plant, "Vetch" is an invasive species in Alaska, but its nectar mixed with the fireweed's nectar results in a light color and delicious honey that is not as sweet as usual.

I had not seen Iris's since I moved to North Carolina from upstate NY 23 years ago. When we moved to this neighborhood 11 years ago, I discovered a neighbor a few houses up from us that had a beautiful Bearded Iris garden. They let me take photos every year. My mom, who passed away in Dec. 2023 had the most beautiful Bearded Iris garden. I swear, I can almost feel her presence on my yearly visit to the neighbor's garden.🥰

We’re on 2.5 acres, had a fox
den 15 years ago neighbors property.Foxes make the weirdest sound at night, I captured it here
Last last Monday June 2, 2025 a young fox crossed into our yard, my 15 year old black lab / border collie mix chased it, caught it… of course I was running after “Leia” telling her to heal then drop, I caught her when she had the fox and she dropped it, the fox stood its ground and hissed at us very pissed off, my wife was in the front yard and got there to capture just after Leia let the fox go.
