Palomar(-Hale) Observatory; from this Morning; 09:15; iPhone 13-mini; defaults

It was only I, a father-daughter duo, an intrepid motorbike dude, and a random individual (the likes of which exceeds my internal storage).

This would have been a Perfect Shot, were it that the doors could be aligned 🤔

Southern tip of central CA coast, right at Vandenburg AFB

Ah! thx for sharing

I wanted to get there yesterday.

Drove-down from SFO, and I didn't realize that timelines would slip so much. I had to quickly get to a campground with openings (Nira Campground), so I had to cut-short part of my intended itinerary.

Maybe next year!

If you time it right, the launchpad is less than a mile from where I took that photo

I was hoping for good timing (I somehow envisioned my arrival to be timed with a launch)!

There were three 'Construction Zones' along the 101, but all I noticed was sluggish traffic.

Nira was nice.

I lived in Missouri for eleven years and went to Branson a handful of times. Ripley's was a fun place, but they didn't have anything like that when I went there. Nice!
Yeah, must be newer, because I had visited the place maybe 10 years ago and these weren’t there. They appear to have remodeled quite a bit, seemingly to adapt to the modern human’s diminishing attention span. 🤷‍♂️
