Hehe - I'm sorry, but I found that funny. Doylem, I applaud your decision to have two birds fly into the frame. Nice touch.

Yes yes, good photo though. One thing I will say for HDR is, for all the goofy stuff it does to land/people, it does allow you to actually make a sky look something like what it looks like in real life.

Fine... except that it's straight out of the camera... not HDR... This is what it looks like in real life... ;)

I truly believe that Doylem lives somewhere out of a fairy tale so I'm 100% sure that he just needed to sing and the birds came flying.

Now to be serious, photography is about capturing the moment. Doylem can be modest and call it luck but he was the one that decided to be where he was and to press the shutter just as the birds flew into frame. So I give Doylem full credit for the photo and for capturing the birds.

Yes, my little cabin is made of marzipan and barley sugar; it's a nightmare when it rains. :) And, yes, you kinda make your own luck, by being ready. I see some people walking around with their cameras in 'ever-ready' cases... which means they'll miss anything that 'just happens'.

Hello!

I took this in PA with my Nikon D40.

I don't normally do nature shots (just not my thing; trying to get more into Street Photography) but I've had a couple people tell me they like this shot on Flickr...

Shutter: 1/50 // Aperture: f/6.4 // Focal Length: 50 mm // ISO 100

...taken with my new Canon f/1.8 50mm prime. Kinda odd affixing an $80 lens to a $2000 body, but whatever - it's a fun lens to work with.

Almost though that was a Lensbaby at first. What was the processing used?

I made a duplicate, applied a radial blur set to zoom at about 14 pixels, and dragged the duplicate over the original, then use the eraser tool to get rid of the blur on the Telephone sign.

Besides that I did some minor tweaks in Photoshop Camera Raw first, prior to the blur effect.
