First post - Sony Ericsson Open - Miami

Hi,
This is my first post here. Congratulations to all for the great photos. I don't know anything about photography and I apologize in advance if my post is not appropriate for the thread. This is a picture I took today with my Nikon D80 with everything automatic. It's Mario Ancic serving in the Grand Stand at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami. I hope you like it.

It looked finally sort of spring this morning, so went to the beach. Surprised to find these lads active. See this as a tribute to Surfer Rob, but in North Sea coordinates and climate: T=11 C, wind about 10 m/s. About the water temp I don't want to think....

lol this one's for you appie57! It's spring break here in ƒlorida and there is hardly a spot to sit on the beaches... plenty of room out in the water tho. Taken today at paradise beach, the water is a chilly 74 degrees F! Great shot by the way - plenty of color and contrast in your springtime as well!:)

Well, I obviously know diddly-squat about what constitutes a fabulous photo!
Really, not one comment so far. I know that alone doesn't indicate a lack of appreciation but c'mon, with the way the compliments often fly hereabouts I can't quite ... ah well, never mind.
This is something that pays looking at. It has such power and depth.
Just brilliant Freebooter.

Thanks a lot! :) Much appreciated.

I liked this capture. The composition with the wide angle taking in the board and the activity (which gives a great sense of context - the feel is busy, activity) and then the one trader pulling you in by looking at the camera works really well. That one trader is also a contrast in that I find his looking at the camera breaks from the busy pace around him. Nice job.

I throw in another one from yesterday, with one day to go this month we may hit 1000 posts. A very rich harvest this month indeed.
