If this weren't a photography forum, I'd think that was a painting! Great shot!

This is actually a screenshot from Google Streetview. I came across this view while I was taking a virtual drive in Northern Scotland. What an amazing landscape. And look at the smoothness of that lake! If you happen to live around this area, please post some shots!

It's a draft, so I'll think away the misalignment visible at the upper corner of the shelving. I get a sense of vulnerability/'childhood lost' from this one, but I had to work at it to come up with that reading--maybe because of the broken mirror(?) on the floor. I can't tell what it is, but its placement and lighting tell me it should be an important clue to decoding the concept here.

Wow, thanks! I completely missed the alignment issue from the very initial composite. Looking back, it's just screaming at me.

Hello people :)

this is Santa Monica, California
clicked from my 4 years old point-and-shoot :D
slightly edited it in photoshop
comments welcome :)

Lovely photo! It has a very romantic quality about it. It looks like the perfect setting for a chapter in a great love story, which leaves me wishing there were a character or two in the foreground to flesh out the story.

David Lean thought the same, when he based his film 'Brief Encounter' at a railway station just twenty miles away from this one: a very British portrayal - "stiff upper lip" and all - of passions unconsummated... ;)

Holy! Google's camera is pretty darn good.

Sorry about the double picture post yesterday, I removed one of them but retook the other one from a better angle.

I LOVE horror photography! I bet that was a lot of fun to shoot (wow that sounds weird :p )

Anyway, here is one I shot from a trip last march. I kind of like it. I just finally got around to editing them.

I'm not sure if its a keeper or not yet. There are definite flaws in the photo but they will never get fixed. I'm not a fan of photoshop. If I didn't get the shot right in the camera, better luck next time.

So many great photos on the last few pages, I've had to (unfortunately) cull my long list of multiquotes.

My hometown Sydney. I never tire of our landmarks.

Nice shot, I've never shot in Sydney, It'd definitely be a great place for photography.
Not sure about being out with my camera in a big city though...but I should head up there some time.
Took a look at your Flickr, good stuff mate.

Very nice mcavjame!

It's been a while. Trying to get back into the swing of things:
Good to see you back NintendoChick, I've always enjoyed your work.

This has to be one of my favourites from you.
It all falls together perfectly.

The sections...lighting...colour...interest all are excellent.

I like the way the pic is 'divided into sections'... yet still hangs together as a whole. Might look good as a poster...

Buttermere... A bit too much hill, I think: not enough room for the pic to 'breathe'...

I can see what you mean, your comment led me to see the picture in a somewhat personified way...as though the river was choking :p...still a nice photo. :)

I had a hard time believing that was real, good work.

Master blaster shot you have taken and i think its out of the world i really like the picture..

Cheers, thanks for the comment. Remember when quoting large images on the forum to change the tags to [img] tags to keeps the mods happy :)

Great capture, I could see this as a film promo poster.

It's a first draft edit. Shot it tonight, with temperature around 40 degrees. Still debating on what I like and dislike about it.

Although unable to decipher your intended meaning,
I find your work very interesting, and you produce with a very high quality.

Gives me an idea of a "cryptic photo challenge thread"... although I've never been very good at cryptic puzzles myself, I've always found them interesting...
