If you took that last Friday night , and were pissed that the old guy with the tripod was in the way of you're getting the shot with the statue and dome aligned , you should have asked , I'd have moved.

Haha, I actually took this Saturday evening. There were a ton of photographers there though.

Had to use a 1.8 aperture for most shots due to the lighting making focusing on the karts very difficult. Still a lot of improvement needed before I get to the level of some of the shots on here. :D

Taken with Canon 400D with 50mm f1.8. Summer is coming!

BTW can anyone explain how I link my images from Flickr? Every time I copy the link into the "add image" thing on the reply screen it just then shows the link and not the image - I expect I am doing something wrong, or do you have to have a pro account?

View your image on flickr. On the upper right hand side, click the "Share" button. Under "Grab the HTML/BBCode," select the bullet for BBCode, then copy and paste the text into your post.

Either go to post one of this thread or click the link in my sig - they are the same. Read the tutorial we developed for posting photos to this thread from Flickr and ImageShack. Most of the posters here follow the steps in this.

Note: Flickr has specific rules regarding linking to external forums like this one. Just copy and paste will do the job, but the result is in violation of Flickrs Terms of Service and could get you booted off them.

Thanks a lot - I will follow the method you use that doesn't break the TOS

By The Light Of The Silvery Moon

On Wednesday night, I spent a cold few hours in the wind and intermittent snow showers trying to capture the Lime Kilns on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) bathed in the light of the full moon.

For most of the time, she was being bashful, hiding behind the clouds. She did show her face briefly though and here is the result. The exposure was about 7 minutes, no artificial light used.

Jessops back from the dead....

Just looked on their website and their prices are better, but still pretty high - what they need is an aggressive price matching scheme of "if you find it cheaper from any UK retailer then we will match it and best it by 10% of the difference". And a 2 year warranty as standard.
