Welcome to Photo of the Day. The POTD thread was started by iGary in May, 2006 and converted to a monthly thread in November 2007 by Arn. POTD is one of the most popular picture groups on MacRumors, often exceeding 500 posts and 20,000 views per month.

Photo of the Day is intended to be a showcase for your best pictures. There is no limit to your gear, just your imagination. P&S and film cameras are welcome along with DSLRs. There are no themes like the Weekly Contest, and no winners (or losers) either.

Policies

*One Photo per Day - Don't post more than one photo each day.

*Multi-Quote - To comment on several photos, click the "+ (Multi-Quote) button. This puts all your comments in one post. Multi-Quoting is required on all of the MacRumors forums.

*SFW (Safe for Work) only - This is a site - wide rule. If you wouldn't show it in a public place, then it's NSFW (not safe for work). Think before you post.

*Describe your photo - Tell what it is and where you took it. If you know the EXIF data of a photo, include it. The following EXIF fields are recommended: Camera, ISO, Focal Length, Shutter/Aperture and Lens.

Note: Anyone may start the Photo of the Day thread on the first of the month GMT. Please copy a quote of this post to maintain all the formatting.

Dreaming of summer

What is this greenery? We get yet more snow this weekend.

We’ve been a bit lucky with our weather it’s been up to 21*C this week, long may it last too. Lots of flowers and buds on woodland walks at this time of year seems a bit odd but it’s great

This little guy decided to find nest materials. Apparently he didn't know it was only February!

Jealous! I only get flowers right now if I hunt and gather them at the grocery store, and we never have sunsets like that here.

Well even shop bought flowers are beautiful.

Lovely monochrome.

Beautiful colours.

I've never done much panning. Should give it a try.

Oh buoy that's choppy!

Same apple fanboy, haven't done much pan play. At uni again and looking for new things, I'm usually a wide angle fan so making myself city walk with primes and telephoto to shake me up. Good fun

I struggle with primes. I’ve always had zooms and you get used to them.
Taking my 24-70mm to Barcelona tomorrow. It gives me the most versatility for a non photography holiday.

While I am writing up my Weekly contest summary to be posted shortly, Barcelona is mentioned. Additionally, I just posted how to take pano's. In Barcelona, definitely go to the Market around the middle of the Rambles walk. Also, across the street is a nice Tapas café to relax. While there are a lot of (crowed and over priced) restaurants along the Rambles, my favorite was about a block back, again across the street from the Market) called Living Barcelona. I overlooks a town square that has an excavation revealing the original Roman road and burials alongside the road that I have posted photos of here.
[doublepost=1551533816][/doublepost]Barcelona Market - a street photography wonderland! Six or seven long aisles, both sides stocked with vendors and transitions from fruit, vegetables/produce, meat, seafood, and candy with colors galore.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll add them to my itinerary. I’m going with two none photography friends, so I’ll have to fit in photography when I can.

It also dawned on me that the only lens I had was the kit 28-70 as I had borrowed a friend's Sony a7, leaving the Nikon at home except the 70-300 with adapter which I didn't use. So the photo was taken by the 28-70. The experience was also the beginning of my transition from Nikon to Sony. Your non-photo friends - believe me, the will be distracted.
