"Good Book"

I actually took this to show my son as it reminded me of the begining of Fellowship of the Rings, with Frodo sitting in the grass against the tree. This dude is a wee bit tall for a Hobbit but he is hairy enough :D

dllavaneras I love your spider. It's my favourite this month (so far).

Mac-Jack I like your composition, although the photo is underexposed.

Thanks worriedmac. I got my camera for my birthday in February, but haven't had a whole lot of time to shoot with school and all. It seems that I lack some of the technique and basics of photography, but have an eye for composition, as some have told me.

The Driver

This is from a photo shoot I did this weekend. I still have another shoot next weekend to shoot a wagon with the horses attached and running for the background. It's going to be turned into a poster for a race they are having this summer.

Very cool... is this with fill flash or is it HDR? Or something else?

I used 3 flashes on it plus the sun. 1 flash through a shoot through umbrella almost straight into his face and the two other flashes off to his sides and just a little behind him. The sun was up over his right shoulder. When I'm done the poster next week I'll post a before and after.

Wow, Everythingisnt, these photos are in a whole other league from the ones you posted in your critique thread. This one of the water droplets on the leaf is superb. You're one quick learner!!

Thanks! :)

Although this kind of macro stuff is a bit different from 'fine art' photography :p.

Had you considered cropping out the grass, leaving just the chalk/pavement? I'm thinking it would look interesting.

I had already cropped out a bit on the top, but at any rate, this is what I got. I think I might like it better with the grass, but thanks for making me look at it a little differently. ;)

Auld Kirk

This is the Auld Kirk in Alloway, Scotland. It is famous for being the venue of a drunken party by witches and warlocks in the poem "Tam O' Shanter" by the poet Robert Burns.
