You've got something special going on here (I'm just not sure what it is ;)).

Nearly really good... but just a bit too 'busy'...

Very nice: calm, meditative...

Windermere, this evening (that's a 12-yacht party going on in the background)...

I think it's his ability to capture some sense of an emerging adult in each child. Photos of children usually make them look, well...childish. These kids look pensive without that quality seeming forced or unnatural. It's a side of all children that exists but is difficult to capture.

I should have been plucking these, not laying in the grass squeezing frames off ...

Thanks... The "pastures that could pass for golf courses" are the grounds of a 'stately home'. Aristocratic families built big houses for themselves, usually with 'landscaped' gardens and parkland. Like this...

Nice shot Doylem...! I was wondering if these aristocratic families have Internet connectivity in these big houses of theirs..;)

Taken in the back garden on the hottest day of the year so far just on a sony cybershot handheld camera...

Attached image is larger than the flickr one to show more detail.

Good lighting technique certainly helps as well...looks like off-camera flash with a softbox or brolly for both of them, done very nicely.

This photo is downright painterly. I love it.

Beautiful shot Sonor!

Love the contrast in detail of this image.

Very nice: calm, meditative...

Thanks Phrasikleia, hector, mcavjame & Doylem. I was trying not to destroy the mood...to retain some subtlety...so I resisted my usual inclination to boost the contrast and actually wound it way back, which really seemed to help.

Memorial Day

With appreciation for those who serve and in remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Great shot! If I had kids I'd be turning my lenses away from my usual stuff and towards my kids all the time - understandably!

Very great flower photo here. This one caught my eye particularly with however you captured it and processed it, and since I'm not usually a big flower photo person, that says something. Good job!

Something recent for me - a shot from one of the tables at a street festival last week, Kansas City, Missouri.

Valdore--Thanks for the remarks! Not much in the flower scene myself...just decided to take the macro lens out for a walk over the weekend :D
