This huge lower limb on a Cottonwood tree looks like it might have originally been grafted onto the tree. Doubt anyone would bother doing that with a Cottonwood, but it did catch my eye.

Five years ago today I landed with my Virginia trees-colored Jeep Wrangler at Petites Gap on the Appalachian Trail for my traditional birthday hike. I miss that Jeep and that trail a whole lot!

Defiantly not. I rarely use my iPhone for photography.

Shot on a Nikon Z6iii with a 24-120mm lens f4.
Also took my Gitzo tripod out for the walk.
Edited in LR Classic.

I stopped entering the photo contests several years ago.
