The weather in UK is awful, but, between the rain-showers, the light can be interesting...

This is a brown pelican from Morro Bay Ca. This pelican has its pouch completely torn from its beak. This, as well as hundreds of others, is usually due to a pelican getting stuck on the hook of a fisherman's line. There have also been many cases were people deliberately slash the pouch on a pelicans bill, which is a form of animal cruelty (see: http://articles.latimes.com/2005/apr/19/local/me-pelicans19)

Help save the pelicans!!

What lens is that? I love the blurred background

Coming from a newbie here so you can take it how you want, but this picture is outstanding. The photograph needs no footnote for those that understand what you captured and the small amount of properly placed color you added really helps bring it all together. It is truly an inspiration to me as a beginner and an example of the level I hope to achieve as a photographer some day. I really believe this photo could be on a Time magazine cover. Again, I am new to this but I still know what I like, and your photo really grabbed me.

Same...

Nothing special, but it's always fun. :) I accidentally left this on ISO 400 and totally blew it out (I think there were some thin clouds I couldn't see, and they caught some light), but I salvaged it as best I could. I'm gonna try something better this week when I get the chance.

Anyway, 1 hour, f/4 (probably drop that to f/8 next time), ISO 400.

Kevin, i just had to stop and say that you have refined your skill as a photographer so much that you could do this for a living. I went through your ENTIRE flickr portfolio and saw how your skill evolved, beginning with a rebel xti and some pringle cans. You are a true inspiration to me.

Fantastic shot Mr Doylem, once again you have timed your shot to perfection for the light.
(I was very impressed with your site) :D

Here's one of Arran that I took from the Irvine shore yesterday evening.

Sunrise at Loch Ness (East shore, opposite Urquhart Castle).

5:30am, still a little drunk from the night before.

As always, there are some fantastic shots here!

This is a pic from my recent trip to Mexico. This is in Teotihuacan. :)
