Had wanted to try some astrophotography, but there was too much light pollution (the next door neighbors were having a party). So instead pulled out my IR converted camera and took this. 20 sec exposure at f/5.6 and ISO 400. Hadn't had much success with the IR body at night, but the tungsten light from next door lit up the leaves nicely. Had to transiently turn the lights from the shed on to achieve focus as the ambient light was too dim for the autofocus to work with LV.
Greetings from New York. First of a short series. Comments always appreciated.

Another NYC shot - an 8-photo Hugin panorama. A bit of a hazy day so B&W seemed the best way forward. Thought about cropping the building edge on the right but obviously didn't. Comments always appreciated.

This is a quick capture, taken inside from behind a window, of a couple frisky lizards making great use of our deck. After the male was "finished", he hopped up onto one of our chairs and relaxed there for the remainder of the evening.
I happened to have had the right tool for the task at hand: D700 with 70-200 2.8 VRII mounted and 2.0 teleconverter attached.
This was also taken with the 70-200mm 2.8 and 2 x TC, but on a D750.

No problem. There is usually a set of policies posted with the opening post of the thread. They read like this:
Interesting that it is left off once and the first page has pics of animals having sex and other "horney" beasts...
Need a better tripod?
Anytime I've tried this, it's never looked right to me. I think you got it right.
