When I use my iPhone I save a lot of various images I find online, either when browsing in Safari or specific apps like tumblr. All of these get saved to the camera roll in one big lump. Which is more than annoying.

Photos in iOS should automatically split saved images into unique folders depending on where they come from. Camera Roll should only be from the camera, a tumblr album from the tumblr app, a Safari album with only images saved from Safari, etc. Then when I hook the iPhone up to my mac there should be a way to see all these separate albums on iOS and import each of them independently to different folders on my mac.

This only makes sense. Maybe there is is just a better way I'm not aware of.

It's better to do it manually. It will drive you crazy in the long run. You don't want Tumblr, Safari, Twitter, etc. You want Fun Stuff, Emojis, and whatever instead. I have apps that do the separate folder thing already. It's not pretty.

Otherwise the Photos app for OS X is supposed to work just like you said.
