Unless there’s a setting I’m overlooking, I just shared a photo album with two friends (both on iPhones), and now it sends them a text message with a link — but the album doesn’t actually appear in their Photos app. In the past, it never texted a link at all. They would just accept the invite. Anyone else noticing this on public Beta 2 iOS 27?

It’s the crappy way that iOS 27 handles album sharing. Someone overlooked the whole sharing mechanism. It’s so hokey. I can understand it sending a link to Android users but why iPhone users can’t keep an integrated experience, is beyond me.

Could NOT agree more!

Are both of your friends on iOS 27? iOS 27 has some changes so you can now share full size photos and videos in the shared album where it was downsized before. The only catch is that it uses space in the owner's iCloud storage where it didn't before.

SO much better trade off /s. I'm more disappointed with Photos every time they make updates to that app.

It’s actually even worse. You can’t group a few pictures and just share an iCloud link that expires without it creating a shared album. It used to just have a place where you could review shared iCloud links, but now it creates shared albums. And if they are of hidden pictures they stay in the shared album section lumped with shared albums you actually want to see.

This is a poor UI change. I don’t send a link to a temporary share of serials and the back of hardware and peripherals and random stuff because I want it to be in a shared album I can see. I want it to stay out of the way. There if I want to review it but forgotten otherwise. When I hide those images from the gallery, because they are screenshots or work pictures of PC serials; I want them to be suppressed until the link expires and I can go back and delete it.
