I hope that is true, as I have since forever wanted apple to tone down the massive black bars of the iphone

Can anyone who actually has the beta installed on their computer actually take a real screenshot (Cmd+Shft+4) instead of a picture?

The iPhone picture they put up in that link looks like a.. hmm.. ufo or something. I guess its me but I don't like that side look. My 2¢. The curved back of the 3GS is nice (glass or metal would be better) and the side and squarish look of the iPhone 4 is also nice.

looks like a generic iphone picture to me, just like the generic camera picture right below it.

I counted the pixels of that 9to5mac screenshot, I got roughly 38 by 25 screen size, which is 1.52:1 aspect ratio, so really it is 1.50:1 just like the iPhone is now :D

the most damning evidence so far. wow. im impressed.

Android enthusiast might jump ship to iOS this October.

but i already have an iOS device, the iPad2. i may sell iPad2 and get a HC tablet then, possibly Amazon tablet.

Or ... it could just be a generic icon to signify using an iDevice to import photos? Although the camera is the same as the camera which forms part of the iPhoto app icon.

that 'tear-drop' shape is **** ugly by all means taper the edges but keep it a uniform thickness for the length of the device.

I agree, keep it the same thickness and use the extra space for more battery.

On a more important note, what's with the awful Marker Felt??

Am I the only one who doesn't mind the tear-drop?!

It's just ok to me. The only thing I wonder is do these gadget sites (thisismynext) consider that the shape of a li-ion battery would be hard to make in a wedge shape, let alone a smaller battery due to the taper design?

IF (and it's a big if) it is a tear drop shape then the thickest part should be the bottom to avoid it being overly top heavy, which would not be enjoyable to hold.

but I would still prefer a more uniform back a lot like the ipod touch with tapered edges.

This is the first legit hint because it comes from Apple.

Looks like we are getting a different home button and bigger screen for sure. Hopefully 4".

God I'm excited.

I'd say that event invites will go out within the next 2 weeks!
