anyone got a photo of what it looked like before??

then one would ask why would apple change the image what would be the purpose? isn't iPhoto 9.2 going to be launching at the same time as the expected iPhone 5 in a week or so?

Scaled up, the screen of that device is 121 by 190; which fits almost exactly (allowing for error) into a 16x10 ratio. The body doesn't fit particularly well with current devices, it's either longer or wider than any we've seen so far.

While I'd hate to think of apple changing the screen dimensions, this had to be based on something.

Well 16:10 is actually quite close to 3:2 which can also be written as 16:10.67, so since we're judging from such a low resolution icon, it is perfectly within reason to keep the same aspect ratio as well as resolution.

Actually, I went to the German website to grab the full resolution screenshot, magnified 10x then rotated to straighten it up and measured up the rectangle display area and it's coming up nicely as 3:2.

Haw haw

You people make me laugh!

So now your basing the design of the iPhone 5 on an icon in a software beta - really! I'm now waiting for the following post to appear: "Yeah and if you blow it up even more you can see that it also now includes a mico-usb port a pico projector and what looks like a built in pocket knife."

Look at the icon in the current version of iPhoto, looks pretty similar to me especially when you massively blow it up.

My @ss!
