Photobooth flash off-sync

Whenever I take a picture in Photobooth now, the screen flashed, but the picture still come out as if there were no flash. This leads me to believe that the flash is off sync. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

No, the screen actually isn't a very good flash. It's better than nothing, but not by much.

Hold up a mirror or something reflective to see if the camera is capturing the screen while it is white.
