Photography quote, looking for source

So I've been hearing this quote being thrown around a lot. I tried to look for the source, but apparently no one knows it. People always say a good friend told it to them by word of mouth, then finally I got a lead saying that it stemmed from some unknown spam email.

A birth certificate shows that we were born,
A death certificate shows we died,
Pictures show that we lived!
